California: Unions Meet to Try and Avert a Strike
According to the Burbank Leader:
Hoping to secure a deal that would keep thousands of acting jobs in place, two of Hollywood’s major labor unions met this week in an attempt to stave off another strike that could, once again, cripple the local economy.
The Screen Actors Guild, which represents nearly 120,000 actors, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers met Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday trying to agree on terms for a new contract that is set to expire June 30...click to continue
